How to Remove Sticky Grease from Stoves
Dried oil can be a great problem if it is stuck on your stove or other kitchen appliances. Grease can be very difficult to remove. Sometimes even commercial cleaners that contain a lot of chemicals cannot deal with such an issue.
Don’t despair! There is a solution. It can be found in home remedies. The good part about these remedies is that they are less expensive and work with minimal effort. As a result, they manage to remove all the grease from your stove, no matter how sticky it is.
Below we provide a few recipes to help you clean dried grease from your kitchen appliances. You’ll see that by using these methods you can save money, time and effort. As for the grease, it will be gone in no time!
The three basic natural products that can be used to deal with sticky grease are baking soda, white vinegar and dishwashing detergent that contains degreaser. All the ingredients are affordable and can be found in your kitchen. Don’t hesitate to try them when fighting nasty stains. They surely will help against dirt and make affected areas look clean and shiny again. If you want to use healthy products for your cleaning, the three mentioned below are all environmentally-friendly, which means they will not harm you or the environment. So, it’s time to take a look at the three methods described below.
White vinegar
Here is the thing: white vinegar can help remove a lot of dirt, limestone and, why not, grease! Using vinegar is very easy and fast. It dissolves dirt like no other natural product. In fact, it does best than commercial cleaners.
Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar. Spray directly onto the grease. Let the vinegar work for a couple of minutes, depending on how tough and sticky the grease is. When the time is up, use a damp dishcloth to wipe down the surface. When wetting the cloth, use hot water only. If you want, you may also use a plastic scrubber to remove grease from kitchen appliances. Non abrasive scrubbers are yet another good alternative.
Baking soda
Baking soda is another great natural remedy to deal with stubborn stains and dirt. Just like vinegar it is a good alternative to harmful commercial cleaning products. It can make an excellent cleanser for removing grease that has accumulated on the stove. Soak a clean sponge in water and gently squeeze to remove the extra water. Then apply some baking soda. Next, scrub the grease. The good part about baking soda is that it doesn’t scratch surfaces. Which means you don’t have to worry about scratches on your kitchen appliances. They will all look fresh and clean.
Grease dissolving liquid
Why using commercial cleaners when there are some home remedies that work better? Instead of going for commercial products to clean grease, choose a dishwashing liquid that contains grease dissolver or degreaser. Dried kitchen oils don’t stand a chance with such a dishwashing liquid.
How you can use dishwashing liquids that contain degreaser? First, run the hot water and soak a rag under it. Then squeeze the rag to remove the excess water. Add some dishwashing liquid. Rub the affected area with th rag, using circular motions. Scrub the dried oil off. Next, rinse with water to ensure all soap is gone. Repeat the steps again as many times as necessary until the grease is completely dissolved.
We hope the information has been helpful. Happy cleaning!
